If you are not from Austria you probably won't understand that one. Explanation: 378.72 Euros is the amount of money you have to pay per term in order to be allowed to study at an Austrian university. Tuition fees were introduced in 2001, before university was for free. Since then there were heavy political disputes about that topic. Now there has been elected a new government and the question is if fees should be kept or not. As I am a student too I still have to pay. What I photographed is a sort of cheque you carry to your bank and than the money is taken from your account.

Hi, i am from Portugal and here the university students have to pay too. They pay more or less: 800 Euros/ year. It is a lot!

I'm not sure on university prices here, but that's immense. :-/
As for the photo, I like it, but I think the numbers could be in better focus. (and the subject more lower down?)

I am afraid I couldn't do better because I only have a Nikon Coolpix 4100. The camera's display is very small and you can't check the focus exactly, but I'll try my best. Unfortunately I can't afford something better at the moment. Regarding the subject I thought it funny trying to photograph something more abstract. Thank you for your comments, Marco and Jenny!

Ah, that's a pity - but I still like the shot.
You're welcome. :)

I think abstract photos are open to the interpretation of the photographer, so i don't necessarily think you would have to lower the number, or raise it for it to get the point across and be artistic. With you working with the lower limitations of a Coolpix camera, you obviously don't have a crystal clear image of macro shots. Understandable. I use a Sony DSC-H2, Cybershot, which is great, but which i have already come to see the limitations. I do want a DSLR, but oh my God THEY ARE EXPENSIVE. For someone about to get married that's a lot of dough to put out. INstead I started entering on online photcontests. You might try that and see if you can win a free camera instead. Much better than paying for it!

@sheldon. I wish I had a DSLR, too. But at the moment I have no income and it seems I can't afford anything so expensive as a DSLR in the future. Nikon Coolpix is great for quick snapshots, but things like checking the focus exactly, is almost impossible. You can't even adjust exposure-time...
